Are you visiting Bangkok for the very first time? Bangkok is a great place to visit for the first time. It also offers some amazing day trips. This particular trip was my favorite.
I will take you to a day trip in Bangkok, where we’ll visit the unique and popular Damnoen Saduak Floating Markets. We’ll also make a stop for an educational tour at the River Kwai Kanchanaburi.
A day tour to Bangkok’s Floating Markets
Are you looking for fun day tours that you can include in your Bangkok visit? This was our favourite. There are also many other attractions in the vicinity of Bangkok that you can include on your itinerary.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Markets
The Bangkok tour began at our amazing Bangkok hotel Siam Design Hotel & Spa located in the center of the city. Our Bangkok tour began at the doors of our amazing Bangkok hotel a data-am-origin.
The first place on our list were the Damnoen Saduak Floating Markets. This place was on our list because we read about it before coming to Thailand. It was a must-see during our travels in Thailand.
We walked a few meters from our car to a few stalls, then hopped on a boat for a unique and popular market.
We had a blast with our boatman, while exploring these tiny market canals.
We tried and tried again to understand the traffic in Thailand. It’s “one horn”, “two horns”, “three rapid” if you want to let you in or something else. haha. I choose option three. No rules. No rules.
Canals can be a bit congested at times but they provide a unique experience that will leave you completely immersed in the culture, traditions and spirit of the area. This place has a certain charm that will make you want to return and visit it repeatedly. The atmosphere is what makes this place so special. It’s not just the color of the water.
The food… And every corner of this mini Thailand-style Venice, if you will, is lined up with small shops filled with souvenirs, hats and scarves, figurines, and so many more items. We came to this place not for the shopping but rather the food. !
It is only right to indulge in local cuisine when you travel around the world. You must try everything. I haven’t even tried the creepy crawlies and bugs on offer. But you must, right? haha..
One of the food stalls had the best Tom Yum soup. It was a food paradise. We had a variety of foods, including fried seafood and chicken, strange vegetables, and fruit I can’t recall the names of. One bowl of Tom Yup, which cost 50 baht (2 cents AUS), was the best soup we’ve ever had. We tried to find this particular style of Tom Yum in other destinations during our Thailand vacation, but the flavours changed as regions did.
