A speedboat Phi Phi Island Tour is one of the best things you can do from Phuket. It will take you to some of the world-famous Phuket Islands.
How Many of you have always wanted to visit here?
How many of you watched the blockbuster Leonardo DiCaprio movie “THE BEACH?” ?
Since I saw the movie, I knew that Maya Beach on the Phi Phi Ley was inscribed in my mind. Together with James Bond Island this was a place that I had to visit. It was the best tour I’ve ever taken in my entire life! It was so good that I’ve done it twice in my life!
We waited at the front of the hotel Novotel Resort with a smile on our face and our backpacks ready for the driver.
The men will absolutely love that you are going to Phi Phi Island in a speedboat! The driver dropped off the group at the marina, where we all jumped aboard our super-speed boat with its row of giant engines. It was very cool !!.. We were excited to rush for the front section, and get a spot in the sun. You can take some amazing pictures and enjoy the breeze and sunshine as you speed towards the Phi Phi Islands.
A few tips
- Consider the speedboat option. The locals were very helpful because it only took 40-50 minutes to get to the islands. We even got sunburnt!
- Don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and something to cover your shoulders. (We brought a sarong to protect ourselves). By the middle of the journey, I can assure you that everyone wants to sit at the front.
- Koh Phi Phi is also a great place to stay for a longer period of time. Koh Phi Phi is full of things to do.
Speedboat Phi Phi Island Tour
The Phi Phi Island Speedboat will head straight to the Viking Cave after leaving the harbour! The funny tour guides will tell you all about the history of this cave.
The mysterious paintings of European sailing vessels that cover the dark inner walls of the cave gave it its name. The artists are unknown and it is believed that the paintings date from between 1000-2000 years ago. However, no one can be sure. The few local fishermen will allow you to enter the cave if you pay a small amount. We chose not to go in and instead enjoyed the view on the boat!
The cave is around the corner at Phi Phi Le. It is private property, protected by the Birds Nest Business.
Swallows nest in this area. Nest Soup is made from the nests. I’ve never tried it but I’d love to hear what you think. Don’t worry. Local collectors only take two nests, while the third one is left to the birds.
Snorkeling at Loh Samah Bay :
After some education, a little history and a few sun-filled hours it’s now time to head to the south of Phi Phi Le to cool off in the water. Loh Samah bay is one of the most popular snorkeling spots in Phuket .
The tour will provide you with snorkeling gear, so jump in the water and explore. The cliffs, which are surrounded by marine life, are covered in soft and hard corals, clams, and other creatures. You may be able to identify some of the Lionfish, Parrotfishes, Scorpionfishes and Angelfish.
Maya Bay:
Here it is… the long-awaited “THE BEACH!” As we are from the Sunshine Coast of Australia, this beach is different.
Maya Bay, like my wife, is breathtakingly beautiful. It’s just for you, Babe… Okay, ok… Once you enter the place through 100-metre high cliff gates you feel like you’ve entered paradise. From one rock face to another, the 200-metre white sandy beach is a smooth and soft.
The top activities are snorkeling, swimming or sunbathing. You will be left breathless by the incredible scenery. It must have been hundreds of photos.
I wish we were here alone, in our little hand-made shack. Snorkelling over the colourful coral and the crystal clear water. Laying on the perfect sand, sipping a coconut freshly cut. Thoughts and imagination can transport you to another place, but you will have to share this paradise with other tourists.
You can take a stroll along the path that leads from the beach if you like. You will reach the center of the island. You know, the beach is also the heart.
Here you will find props from the film, such as the shacks where the actors would have slept, the kitchens where they cooked their food, and the little areas where the actors would have relaxed, etc. It’s very cool! It’s a great feeling to walk in the footsteps and see the film destination.
Monkey Beach :
How many of you are monkey lovers? We do!! We do!!
You can see macaques monkeys in their natural habitat in Ao Ling, a hidden bay just north-west of Loh Dalam Bay.
Monkey Beach is often crowded with foreigners waiting in line to see the monkeys. If you’re lucky, you may be able join them and walk around the beach with the monkeys. There are plenty of photo opportunities with the monkeys climbing and running on the cliffs. Try to keep in mind that it’s best to leave these animals ‘wild’ and not feed them.
Lunch Time at Phi Phi Don:
It is exciting to take photos of these long boats in Venice, as it is to see them.
Phi Phi Don, the largest island in the Phi Phi Island Group is located on the west coast of Thailand. Here you can find a permanent residence and an array of hotels with breathtaking views.
After a 300 metre vertical ascent, you can reach the top of Ao Lo Dalam’s tourist village by combining hundreds of steps and winding narrow footpaths. You can see our restaurant from this vantage point. The colors are spectacular.
Khai Nai Island
Khai Nai Island is the perfect place to relax after you’ve eaten all the delicious exotic foods, seen the Viking Cave and snorkeled over corals. You’ve also visited the Macaques Monkeys, and put your own footprints in the sand at ‘THE Beach’. !
It takes you 5-10 minutes to walk the entire island. It’s small, but it is also awesome. It’s possible that you will end up taking more than 300 photos with every step. You can find a small bar, place your feet on the sand with the music blasting from the speakers and enjoy the feeling that you are ‘off-grid’ for a little while.
