“I love you”
Every little girl or big girl should hear that her dad loves her. The love between father and daughter has a special quality. When a girl hears her father love her, she can be overwhelmed. The first thing girls learn about love is from their fathers. If they don’t get it from their fathers, they will learn it from others and the world may have a different view of what love is.
“You are unique.”
What better way to be told that you are special by your father? Dads sometimes don’t have the right words to say. If you don’t know what to say, tell your daughter she is special. It is important to make your daughter feel special.
“I’ll be there for you always.”
When a daughter needs someone to support her, she should know that her dad is there. Let your daughter know, Dad, that you will always be there for them. This statement can mean the world to your daughter in a world full of confusion.
You are beautiful.
It is important that a girl hears she is beautiful from her father. She needs to be told she is beautiful. You don’t need to say “beautiful” only. You can use any word to describe her, including pretty, smart, funny, etc. Let her know that this gives her confidence and she will need it!
You can tell me anything.
Today’s world makes it very difficult to grow up. A girl should be able tell her father anything. If you’re a “daddy girl”, you need him to listen to everything you say.. Dads—never miss an opportunity to listen to your daughters when they have something to tell you!
“I’ll protect you always.”
A girl is entitled to be scared of the big and scary events in her life. It’s great when she can call her father and be sure he will protect. Your daughter needs to hear from you that you will always protect her. She needs to know you will protect her no matter what stage she is in life.
“Sure I’ll do it.”
There will be times when your daughters want you to do something special for her. She may ask you to get your nails done, have a tea-party, or do a makeover. Don’t say no to your daughter because you might miss out on an important moment. Childhood memories are what make up childhood, so say yes often!
